María Aurora is an attorney-at-law specialized in IP and Corporate Responsibility in Human Rights. She is Head of the Trademark Department at BERKEN IP.
Her practice focuses on providing advice, drafting, developing, implementing and monitoring Human Rights Compliance Programs that allow companies to identify, prevent, mitigate and remedy adverse impacts that their own activity, supply chain, and/or business relationships may cause on Human Rights. She also assists in establishing mechanisms to control that compliance with international standards, local laws and regulations is continually met.
Prior to joining BERKEN IP, María Aurora served as Director in the National Secretary of Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism. Previously and throughout her professional career, she held managerial positions in corporate and legal affairs at leading companies as well as at renowned law firms.
Currently, she serves in INTA’s Brands for a Better Society Committee for the 2022-2023 period.
María Aurora obtained her Law Degree (1990) from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) (1997) from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She is a registered Patent and Trademark Agent at the National Institute of Industrial Property.
