María Aurora is a Partner of BERKEN IP and Head of the Trademark Department.
Her practice comprises trademark law, copyright, domain names, internet matters, publicity, promotions, negotiation and drafting of franchising and licensing contracts.
Previously a corporate attorney at leading companies, she has acquired extensive experience in corporate trademark and legal matters. María Aurora was Manager of Corporate Affairs and Head of Intellectual Property and Computer Law in Molinos Río de la Plata S.A., an important local food company. Before that, she held several positions at YPF S.A., the largest argentine oil & gas company. She was Head of the Corporate Affairs Area from the Vice Presidency of Legal Affairs and previously served as lawyer in the same department.
María Aurora also served as Director in the National Secretariat of Human Rights and Cultural Pluralism, where she worked on the promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility in Human Rights and the management of diversity and inclusion of vulnerable groups in the private sector.
Currently, she is serving for a second period in INTA’s Brands for a Better Society Committee (2024-2025).
María obtained her Law Degree (1990) from the Universidad de Buenos Aires. She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M.) (1997) from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She is a registered Patent and Trademark Agent at the National Institute of Industrial Property.
